Learn to weld before the first real spark flies. 🔥
On our Soldamatic simulators, you train as if you were using real torches and a real helmet, but the weld is created in VR.
The system measures angles, distances and speed, and shows you straight away where you need to make adjustments.
The advantage is that you can practise as often as you like without using up any materials, and you’ll be able to tackle the actual seam with a clean technique.

Practise operating a crane, completely safely 🏗️
On the VR crane simulator at the TAC, you’ll learn the basics in a virtual environment. If something goes wrong, no real load will fall and nobody will get hurt. This means you can take your time to get the hang of it and build your confidence before moving on to the real crane. 💪

Let’s move on to electro-pneumatics. ⚙️
This is the logical next step after pneumatics. Now we’re moving on to electrical systems, and with that, our introduction to automation technology. Over the next week, you’ll learn about relay technology, sensor technology, control systems and how to set up sequence controllers yourself.
The course is for the second year of apprenticeship and bridges the gap between mechanics, electrical engineering and automation.

In one week, you’ll learn how technical systems using compressed air work: getting to know the components, reading circuit diagrams, setting up control systems and pinpointing faults. The course is for second-year apprentices and is heavily focused on practical work. By the end, you’ll be setting up your own pneumatic circuits.

That’s exactly what our TAC tokens are for.
Pupils come to us at the TAC over a period of several days to gain an inside look at technical careers.
There are five stops on the itinerary:
1️⃣ TAC Start: Get to know the campus and log in to the learning system
2️⃣ Hands-on technology: filing, chamfering, stamping initials into aluminium
3️⃣ Thinking digitally: crane simulator and digital welding
4️⃣ Health and safety: a whole day dedicated to health and safety at work
5️⃣ Getting ready for an internship: researching companies and practising that first phone call
Nobody gets the token for free. At each station, it’s awarded only to the best participants, based on the points earned in the learning system and our instructors’ assessments. Whoever collects all five will end up with the Explorer Token.

Five tokens, one lanyard. This is what it looks like when someone has completed all the stations. 🔑
Mathias Renker, our course centre manager, has developed the Explorer Tokens for pupils who are getting a taste of technical careers here at the TAC. At each station, only the best pupils receive a token. Anyone who collects all five has the complete set of Explorer Tokens.
And why metal rather than paper? Because these things are meant to have value. A certificate ends up in a drawer, whereas you take a token with you to a job interview.

Next up in the course programme are the basics of sheet metal working. 🔧
Over the course of two weeks, your apprentices will learn how to turn a flat sheet of metal into a finished component: cutting to size, deburring, cutting, bending and folding. The course is designed for first-year apprentices and is beneficial for both metalworking apprentices and electronics technicians. You’ll get a lot out of it, as control cabinet and enclosure construction build directly on these skills.

Have a go on our simulator before you get down to the nitty-gritty 🚜
With us, you start off in the simulator, and only once you’ve got the hang of it do you move on to the practical part. If you mess up a manoeuvre in the simulator, nothing happens at all. You simply try again. We’ve tried out the VR forklift for you; perhaps you’ll soon be able to give it a go for yourselves here at TAC.
