Basic training for crane operators - specialising in indoor cranes (level 1)

The basic training for crane operators provides all the important knowledge required to Indoor cranes safely, efficiently and in compliance with the law. The course is aimed at people who use indoor cranes in their everyday work - especially in factory halls, production facilities and industry. You will learn the technical basics and safe handling of indoor cranes, including control types, load handling equipment and slings. The course also covers legal regulations, the duties of employers and crane operators and accident prevention.

  • Legal basis: Laws, DGUV regulations, liability and obligations.
  • Technology & structureCrane types with a focus on indoor cranes, control types, safety equipment.
  • Physical basicsCentre of gravity, lever law, tensile force.
  • Load handling & slingingSelection and use of lifting gear.
  • Danger areas & accident prevention: Recognising and avoiding risks.
  • ExaminationsTheory and practical test with certificate and driving licence.

Duration: Wednesday to Friday, 28.01.-30.01.2026

Course times:
Wednesday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:00
Friday: 08:00-13:00

After successfully completing the training - consisting of a theory and practical test - participants receive a recognised certificate and a driving licence as proof of their qualification.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Physical and mental aptitude (e.g. G25 examination recommended)
  • No health restrictions (e.g. no seizures)
  • Sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Basic knowledge of occupational safety
  • No impairment due to alcohol, drugs or medication
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE): safety shoes, helmet, gloves and high-visibility waistcoat if necessary
